  • Responsible for the supervision of employees in Manufacturing, plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in Manufacturing methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
  • Supervises the blending, coating, tablets, bulk, and pharmacy manufacturing operations.
  • Reviews manufacturing batch records and work plans.
  • Performs Visual transactions to assure the timely flow of materials and products.
  • Writes batch records, SOP’s, special instructions, discrepancy reports and batch investigations as needed.
  • Enforces Current Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Creates, monitors and maintains safe working environment throughout the operation.
  • Performs quality checks to assure product meets quality standards and batch record documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Utilizes staff to efficiently meet daily departmental requirements.
  • Assists in training operators in all phases of the processes
  • Assures the production areas are kept neat and clean.
  • Liaison between production and support groups.
  • Enters basic computer data into different databases as needed to support the operation.
  • Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
  • Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines and equipment.
  • Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems.
  • Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
  • Revises production schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure or operating problems.
  • Consults with maintenance personnel in regard to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.
  • Enforces cross training between different Manufacturing operations
  • Performs other duties as assigned by immediate Supervisor

Qualifications

  • High school diploma plus three to eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous lead experience.
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Bilingual (English -Spanish)
  • Strong knowledge of the GMPs and Safety
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Basic mathematical skills- with emphasis in division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Experience with compression and encapsulation machines.
